New House, Paterson St. Byron Bay
With a fabulous view of Cape Byron, Tallow Beach and the Coral Sea, this steep site offered a spectacular opportunity. Height restrictions and other planning constraints made the design of this house a 3 dimensional jigsaw puzzle. A tumbling stair from top to bottom became the organising framework around which the house is designed. Natural materials such as timber, stone and rusted steel were used extensively to create a rich palette of external materials.
