The Summerhouse, Coopers Shoot, Byron Bay

The Summerhouse has spectacular views to Cape Byron and the Pacific Ocean, as well as the Byron hinterland. Situated on a small block of rural land, it challenged our ingenuity to create a spectacular guest accomodation and entertaining spaces along with privacy for the owner.

Our solution for extending and redesigning the existing single-storey 1970s house created a private apartment for the owner, together with stunning boutique guesthouse accommodation.

The flat roof aesthetic was driven in part by the form of the original house, while our client’s love of adobe style buildings and rounded forms inspired the smooth finish.
